How to Create a Course Enrollment for a Self-Paced Course in SimpliTrain

Enrolling a self-paced course in SimpliTrain allows learners to access the required course materials and begin their independent training. A course enrollment is essential for learners to launch activities in a self-paced course. Follow these steps to create a course enrollment:

Steps to Create a Course Enrollment

  1. Navigate to Course Enrollments

    • Go to Admin > Learning Management > Delivery > Course Enrollments, then select “+ Create Course Enrollment”.
    • This will redirect you to the Create Course Enrollment page.
  1. Complete the Basic Information

  • Select Learner: Choose the learner’s name to whom the course will be enrolled.

  • Select Course: Choose the course to enroll from the available list.

  • Set Expiration Date: By default, this is set to 6 months but can be customized based on the learner’s needs.
  • Target Completion Date: Specify the desired date for the learner to complete the course.

  • Hours Spent: This can be recorded after the learner completes the course.

  • Grade: Enter the learner’s grade after they complete the course.

  • Include Labs: Uncheck this box if you want to exclude lab content from the course.
  • Include SCORM Modules: Uncheck this box if you want to exclude video content from the course.

Payment Information

Create Course Enrollment - Payments

    • The payment type must be associated with an order in the CRM system.
    • SimpliTrain searches for relevant orders based on the learner’s account and the selected course.
    • Select the appropriate payment type from the dropdown menu.
  1. Add Notes (Optional)
    • You may include additional information in the Notes field if necessary.

  2. Save the Enrollment
    • Click Save to finalize the course enrollment.

Additional Details

  • Once the course enrollment is created, the learner is automatically enrolled in sessions associated with the course.
  • Learners must have an active course enrollment to access and complete activities in a self-paced course.

This structured process ensures that learners can seamlessly begin their self-paced study with all necessary materials and guidelines in place.
