How to Make an Announcement Available to a Specific User Role, Course, or Class in SimpliTrain
Users in SimpliTrain can create targeted announcements for specific user roles, courses, or classes, ensuring relevant users receive important updates. This allows for precise communication within specific groups, such as learners, instructors, or class participants.
Steps to Create a Targeted Announcement
Access the Announcement

- Navigate to “Create Announcement” from the main menu.
- This will redirect you to the Create Announcement page.
Enter Announcement Details

Fill in the necessary information in the Basic Information (1) section:
- Title and Description of the announcement.
- Priority Level (e.g., High, Medium, Low).
Set Display and Scheduling Options
- Select the Center where the announcement should be visible.
- Define the Start and End Date for the announcement’s visibility.
- Choose the appropriate checkboxes based on the announcement type.
Specify the Target Audience
- Target a Specific User Role
- In the Availability Section (2), click on “Add User Role”.
- A popup window will appear, allowing you to choose specific user roles (e.g., Learner, Instructor).
- Select the user roles that should receive the announcement.
- Target a Specific Course
- In the Course Section (3), select the relevant course.
- The announcement will be triggered for all users enrolled in the selected course.
- Target a Specific Class
- In the Class Section (3), attach a specific class to the announcement.
- The announcement will be triggered for learners enrolled in that particular class.
Save and Publish
Click the “Save” button to finalize the announcement.
The announcement will be visible to the selected user roles, course participants, or class members based on the defined settings.
