How to Clone a Class in SimpliTrain
Cloning a class in SimpliTrain is a quick and efficient way to create a duplicate class while retaining the original class’s settings. This feature allows organizations to save time by replicating an existing class instead of starting from scratch.
Methods to Clone a Class
SimpliTrain provides two methods to clone a class:
- Cloning from the Class Detail Page
- Navigate to the Class Detail Page of the class you want to clone.
- Click on the Clone Event (1) button.
- A new class is instantly created as a duplicate of the original.
- Note: While most details from the original class are copied, the session times will not be duplicated.
- Review the new class’s details, make any necessary adjustments, and save the class.
- Cloning from the Clone Event Page
- Go to the Clone Event option from the main menu.
- A search popup will appear. Search for and select the class you wish to clone.
- Specify the number of days after the original class ends that the new class should begin.
- Click on the Clone Event button.
- A duplicate class will be created, scheduled to start based on the specified days.
Key Points to Note
- Retained Details: The new class will inherit most attributes from the original, such as the course, instructor, and other settings.
- Session Times: Session times from the original class will not be carried over and must be manually configured for the cloned class.
- Custom Adjustments: After cloning, review and update any details as needed to suit the new class requirements.
